Easter egg decorating is something children love to do around Easter time. Glitter and shiny things are things that pretty much every little girls enjoys. Why not mix the two? Glitter Easter eggs are a lot of fun to make and they are great for girls of all ages, some boys may even like them. Once the Easter eggs are hallow, this craft is incredibly easy to make and can be done by kids of all ages. This great Easter crafts gives kids reason to play with glitter and make a great Easter craft all at the same time.

It's very simple, here's how to do it:

Materials
-glitter (in dust form or mica powder for resin)
-hallow eggs
-plate(s)
-paint, food coloring, or egg dye (optional)
-newspaper
-clear glue
-old paintbrush

Instruction

1. Glitter is a pain to pick up, especially when it's in dust form. To avoid having to pick up glitter, put some newspaper down on your work area so you can just throw away the glittery newspaper when you're finished. Of course, the newspaper won't help keep the glitter of you and your kids, but that's almost inevitable.

2. This step is optional, but it usually gives the Easter egg a better appearance. Paint your Easter egg or dye it. You can paint or dye it the same color as your glitter, or you can paint or dye it a color that goes along well with the color of your glitter. Let the egg dry before moving on to the next step if you have chosen to do this.

3. Take the glitter dust and put it on a plate. You can also put it directly on the newspaper if you want to get your dishes dirty.

4. Use an old paintbrush (one that can get ruined) to apply clear glue to your Easter egg. Liquid glue works best with this because it stays wet longer and will work well with the paintbrush. You can try using a glue stick, although I wouldn't recommend it because I am unsure if it would work effectively.

5. While the glue is still wet, put your Easter egg on its side and roll it in the glitter dust. Make sure that you get the entire surface of the Easter egg so you don't have any empty spots. If you put the glitter dust right on the newspaper, make sure that the egg doesn't touch the newspaper because it will stick to it.

6. Put your Easter egg aside and let it dry. Once it's dry be sure you don't handle it too much because the glitter will probably get all over your hands.
